Reminding us of the Virtues: Obedience, Purity, Poverty and the Friendship.
- What strikes us:
- Though he is writing to the lay people about those virtues, to us Religious , Obedience, Purity and Poverty are not just virtues but THE VOWS we have professed before God.
- Jesus, Christ has to be always our model and we must struggle to imitate Him for he lived such life.
- Francis talks about the fragility of the Purity which he compares with a glass or a ripe fruit, and he says it has to be handled with care.
- Francis mentions about the consequences which may follow after the curiosities.
- To avoid externals or senses which can lead to impurity. But why he insists that the married people should be watchful of their purity?
- Is there some negative concerns about appreciation of the sex?
We got used to the word PURITY as we were sharing . Refering to chapters XII and XIII the word used is Purity: On Purity, and How to maintain Purity. We are strongly convinced that Purity is connected to Chastity.
